Originally chia seeds come from Mexico and Guatemala and were already popular to the Mayas and Aztecs. Just like amaranth, buckwheat and quinoa, it belongs to the so-called family of pseudocereals.
These little powerseeds are outstanding abundant with antioxidants, protein, ruffage, vitamins and minerals. Furthermore chia seeds have an extremely high occurance of omega-3 fatty acids and they contain potassium, boric, zinc, folic acid and also essential amino acids.
Chiaseeds are gluten free and are suitable for powerdrinks, smoothies or granola. In addition they are perfect for energy bars or as topping for dessert or yoghurt!
